Overview

This position is responsible for leading all team members in the efficient and profitable operation of Pasco’s Clover Island Coffee Bar. The Café Coordinator is responsible for coordinating day-to-day operations, maintaining high standards and conditions, and fostering a positive and healthy environment, which provides consistently fast, efficient, and friendly service to all customers. The Café Coordinator creates the tone and personality of the café by being an advocate of training, customer service, product knowledge, and education, encouraging safe work practices, and demonstrated commitment to the organization.

 

Café Coordinator salary range: $19.74/hr.-$23.20/hr. DOE with ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates.

Responsibilities

  1. Operations
    1. Coordinates staff schedules according to the needs of the business while maintaining target labor costs.
    2. Maintains proper loss prevention standards, reviewing cash handling procedures, deposits, and safe procedures
    3. Oversees all cash and media management functions. Able to perform all POS duties, front and back of café functions including opening and closing procedures
    4. Promotes and practices safe work habits as described in the Washington State Retail Food Code, Chapter 246-215 WAC
    5. Identify and resolve potential safety hazards, operational inconsistencies, and any team member or customer incidents. Documents accidents and conducts safety meetings ensuring team member compliance in all safety initiatives.

 

  1. Service
    1. Models excellent service delivery and AIDET practices, and is the “owner” of the café service initiatives
    2. Assesses and provides adequate staffing to provide efficient and friendly, superior service.
    3. Maintains high cleanliness standards consistently throughout the café in areas of appearance, merchandise, and equipment
    4. Regularly participates in the cooking, cleaning, serving of food items
    5. Regularly participates in the cleaning of café area to meet hygiene and presentation standards

 

 

       3.Product

    1. Pro-active in solving customer problems and maintaining excellent customer satisfaction
    2. Ensures that all company food offerings maintain the highest quality
    3. Ensures that all café team members are educated on our products and services by developing an understanding of our various types of food and drink offerings
    4. Promotes healthy eating habits in support of CBHA health and wellness program

 

       4. Training and Development 

    1. Conduct utilization review studies as needed. Provides ongoing training and development to all team members in the areas of operating standards, customer service, and product knowledge
    2. Demonstrates ability to lead, effectively communicate, and champion the café standard operating procedures
    3. Builds morale and team spirit by fostering a work environment where team members’ input is encouraged and valued
    4. Develops team members, establishing specific performance objectives, and measuring team member performance regularly.

 

       5.Promotes a positive work culture and upholds clinic policies and procedures, including the WE CARE                          Standards of Behavior.

 

       6.Must uphold confidentiality at all times in regards to CBHA activities, reports, financials, patient information,            and other proprietary information specific to CBHA.

Qualifications

Professional and Technical Knowledge:

General Development:

Professional and Technical Knowledge:

  1. 2 years’ experience working in a café/deli-style venue which resulted in progressive responsibilities such as supervising, training cooks, prep cooks, and/or cashiers, as well as purchasing and replacing deli inventory.
  2. 1-year experience directly preparing coffee recipes to customer requirements.
  3. Knowledge of operating & maintaining espresso equipment.
  4. Applicable training and experience may be substituted for formal education, depending on the nature and duration.
  5. Must possess a valid Washington State food handlers card

Technical Skills:

  1. Ability to prepare reports identifying key performance indicators
  2. Possesses working knowledge of word processing software, database applications, and spreadsheet applications.
  3. Ability to use clerical and numerical skills in preparing documents from raw data.
  4. Possess the ability to prepare and interpret financial and statistical reports
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

 

Communication Skills:

  1. Job duties require the effective communication of information in written (including electronic) correspondence.
  2. Job duties require the effective communication of information during informal and formal verbal presentations.
  3. Communicate complex concepts in a clear effective manner for a general audience.

 

Blood/Fluid Exposure Risk: According to this position this is a Category 3

  1. Category I: Tasks routinely involve a potential for mucous membrane or skin contact exposure to blood, fluids, or tissue. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), when appropriate, is required.
  2. Category II: Usual Tasks do not involve exposure to blood, body fluid, or tissues but may require performing Unplanned Category 1 tasks.
  3. Category III: Tasks involve no greater exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues than would be encountered by a visit. Category 1 tasks are not a condition of employment.

 

Physical Demands:

  1. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  2. Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
  3. Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).
  4. Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
