Overview

 

The Service Clerk is responsible for providing clerical support for Maternity Support Services and Early Services for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) staff, including performing daily schedule review to ensure programs remain in compliance for documentation and billing practices. Position will also assist with department projects, events and walk-in assistance as needed.

Support Service Clerk salary range: $18.28 p/h-$21.48 p/h DOE with ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates.

Responsibilities

Responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties for the day-to-day operation and implementation of the Maternity Support Services and ESIT programs.

 

  1. Scrub Electronic Medical Record (EMR) schedules daily for MSS, Registered Dietitian, and ESIT clients to ensure proper insurance and other documentation is complete
  2. Close MSS cases after delivery once services are complete, or if services are discontinued for any reason
  3. Coordinates with other CBHA departments as needed to gather information and complete patient documentation
  4. Scans documents into EMR system
  5. Provides information and makes referrals on available community resources for walk in patients
  6. Coverage of reception duties during lunch/breaks or as needed
  7. Assist with various projects and events
  8. Participates in outreach activities in the community to promote Family Services programs
  9. Other duties as assigned
  10. Promotes a positive work culture and upholds clinic policies and procedures, including the WE CARE Standards of Behavior.
  11. Must uphold confidentiality at all times with regard to CBHA activities, reports, financials, patient health information and other proprietary information specific to CBHA.

Qualifications

General Development:

 

  1. Requires more advanced organizational skills to manage a schedule and a fast-paced workflow.  Job duties require the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  2. Job responsibilities require prioritizing tasks, patients, and responsibilities for effective performance of duties, including re-prioritization in response to changes in circumstances. 
  3. Ability to problem solve when situations require solutions that support organizational goals and team objectives. 

Professional and Technical Knowledge:

 

  1. Position requires level of experience typically obtained through a High School diploma/GED or equivalent education and/or experience.
  2. Job duties require the ability to obtain specific knowledge in the first months of the job including CHW certification.
  3. Must possesses a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to cover for staffing shortages in alternative locations, for department events and required meetings.

Technical Skills:

 

  1. Ability to prepare basic correspondence and simple reports in Microsoft Word.
  2. Ability to create basic spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel to create tables
  3. Ability to create basic presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  4. Ability to enter and manage data into a centralized electronic health records and Microsoft Outlook.

Communication Skills:

 

  1. Job duties require the employee to effectively communicate their opinions and extrapolations of information they collect and synthesize/analyze. 
  2. Job duties require the compilation and analysis of information prepared in effective written form, including correspondence, reports, articles, or other documentation. 
  3. Duties involve convincing others to take actions in the best interest of the patient and organizational goals.
  4. Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing and translating both English and Spanish.
