This position is responsible for preparing and serving all café products with friendly individualized attention towards each customer.

Cafe Team Member: $18.28 p/h -$21.48 p/h DOE with ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates.

Responsibilities

Café Operations

  1. Prepares and serves hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, or teas.
  2. Prepares all café food menu items using standard facility equipment ensuring quality and efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  3. Maintains the highest quality, consistent product standards
  4. Follows all company drink recipes and procedures
  5. Monitors stocks of ingredients and food items and assists with the preparation of inventory supply orders.
  6. Maintains the cleanliness of the café to meet or exceed Health Department standards for cleanliness, food handling and sanitation.
  7. Ensures the neatness and cleanliness of the facility by sweeping, mopping, stocking shelves, removing trash, etc.
  8. Assists in the distribution of weekly shipments
  9. Reports potential safety hazards to the café coordinator
  10. Informs Café Coordinator of any operational inconsistencies and needed equipment repairs
  11. Execute opening and closing procedures
  12. Must handle food & beverages safely, properly according to state and federal health regulations.
  13. Operates and maintains kitchen appliances, equipment, tools and utensils.

Sales/Customer Service

  1. Greets all customers with fast, friendly, personalized service and develops a rapport with customers by learning their names, favorite drinks and food items
  2. Answers customer questions regarding coffee blends, preparation (food or coffee), etc. in a courteous and friendly manner
  3. Responsible for taking money in form of cash, check, or credit card in exchange for food or services.
  4. Operates the point of sales system, computer hardware and software in the process of completing a sale and/or opening and closing the Café.
  5. Displays a positive, high energy and dynamic team culture to both internal and external customers.

Participate in additional Café services such as catering and event planning as needed.

Promotes a positive work culture and upholds clinic policies and procedures, including the WE CARE Standards of Behavior.

Must uphold confidentiality at all times in regards to CBHA activities, reports, financials, patient information and other proprietary information specific to CBHA.

 

Qualifications

Professional and Technical Knowledge:

  1. Possesses basic level experience of written and verbal communication skills, computational and computer skills, and mathematical knowledge typically acquired through completion of high school program.
  2. Applicable training and experience may be substituted for formal education, depending on the nature and duration.
  3. Possesses a high degree of customer service skills.
  4. Must be able to handle food & beverages safely and properly.
  5. Must possess a valid Washington State food handler’s card or be able to obtain a Washington State food handlers card within allowable state regulations.

Communication Skills:

  1. Proficiency in written and oral communication.
  2. Communicates complex concepts in a clear, effective manner for a general audience.
  3. Possesses excellent cross-cultural communication skills/culture competency.
